*Ignite the Spark, Fuel the Fire: Collaborating for Differentiation
Date: 27 May 2019 - one day conference
Times: 8:30am-4:00pm
Location: UNSW Sydney, CLB Building
Ignite the Spark, Fuel the Fire: Collaborating for Differentiation is another exciting partnership between the University of New South Wales and the NSW Department of Education, building on the very successful Differentiating Assessment conference in April 2018.
The conference, now fifth in the Ignite the Spark, Fuel the Fire series, will focus on how leaders and teachers can collaborate effectively to differentiate teaching and learning in the context of the classroom, whole school and communities of schools, as required by the NSW syllabuses for the Australian Curriculum. Differentiated sessions will be available for leading, proficient and early career practitioners.
Presentations will also include differentiation strategies supported by current research and consistent with future directions in the education of gifted students in NSW.
This one day conference will continue to showcase innovative, quality examples and strategies for differentiated teaching, to empower leaders and teachers to cater for the diversity of their students. Workshops and presentations will include sharing by experts and researchers, teachers and leaders (early childhood, primary and secondary), and NSW Department of Education advisers, making this conference an essential professional development experience on which to build classroom practice.
Attendance at this conference will provide 6 NESA-registered hours of professional development at Lead level, which can also be used to contribute to the total hours for those who are working at Proficient and Highly Accomplished levels.
