MBSR is the world's most widely researched mindfulness-based programme. It is an 8-week experiential course that trains us how to use mindfulness in daily life, and to develop lasting habits over two months. First developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, this course will equip you with guided and tailored instruction, mindful movement practices, formal and informal exercises, home assignments, and audio files.
Groups meet weekly for 2-2.5 hours and for an all-day silent session between Weeks 6 & 7. The all-day session allows participants to immerse themselves more deeply in the practices of mindfulness.
We will explore how we can come out from the auto-pilot mode, our mind-body connection, how mindfulness changes our relationship to thoughts, feelings, emotions, and pain, as well as other health-related subjects.
