Four of the decade’s most memorable artistes together for the first time, performing their biggest hits. With record sales of over 20 million, 200 gold, platinum and silver discs and numerous awards between them this is an 80s show unrivalled.
Big Country broke onto the scene with the release of the classic singles Fields Of Fire, Chance and their signature song In A Big Country, which went on to become massive worldwide hits.
Curiosity Killed The Cat were one of the hottest and most popular bands of the late eighties. Hit singles included Down to Earth, which peaked at number two in the charts and sold 1.5 million worldwide, Misfit, Ordinary Day, Hang On In There Baby and Name and Number (which later went on to be a hit single for De La Soul).
Midge Ure has received Ivor Novello, Grammy and BASCAP awards along with a flotilla of gold and platinum records. By the time his single If I Was went to number one in 1985 he had already crammed several musical lifetimes into a ten year career - Slik, The Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy, Visage, Ultravox and of course the most famous one off group in musical history Band Aid. Ultravox was a major influence on the new romantic and electro-pop movements of the early 80s.
Nick Heyward formed the band Haircut 100 in 1981 with Les Nemes and Graham Jones. They had four UK Top 10 singles and their debut album, Pelican West, reached number 1 in the UK charts. Nick’s solo career began in 1983 with his debut album North of a Miracle which reached number ten in the UK charts. He and Haircut 100 are responsible for hits including Whistle Down The Wind, Blue Hat For A Blue Day, Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), Love Plus One, Fantastic Day and Nobody’s Fool.
