This teacher professional development workshop will focus on how Aboriginal groups use plants to live and survive.

Aboriginal histories and cultures and intercultural understanding is woven throughout the Australian curriculum.

Join Indigenous Educator Trent Hill and Botanic Gardens of South Australia education staff to learn about the importance of plants to Aboriginal people and how they are used as food, medicine, tools and shelter.

Trent will lead you on a walk around Adelaide Botanic Garden highlighting the plant species and demonstrating how Aboriginal people use these plants in their daily lives.

Botanic Gardens education staff will then showcase more resources and programs that are available to further strengthen your student's intercultural understanding.

This workshop is aligned with the Australian National Teaching Standards and a certificate of attendance will be issued.
