It is important for yoga teachers and practitioners to have basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. This workshop gives instructors and students an opportunity to understand concepts and principles that apply directly to yoga and gain practical knowledge of how the human body is constructed. Through discussion and visual aids, workshop participants will learn how anatomy and muscles are used in various yoga postures.

•Form and function of the major joints, bones and muscles
•Basic body movements and yoga asana examples
•Connective tissue and its relation to flexibility
•The circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems
•Overview of the skeletal system

This workshop is open to the public. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for yoga practice. Students enrolled in Active Sol's Yoga Alliance Teacher Training program will receive 4 credit hours towards certification.
