“Armenia” International Music Festival and Competition: opening up new horizons
The first ever “Armenia” International Music Festival and Competition will be held in Yerevan from July 4 to July 12, 2017. The project is initiated by the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and European Foundation for Support of Culture.
Open to the pianists up to 35 years old the Competition gives excellent platforms of cooperation thanks to wide international partnerships. Five finalists of the “Armenia” Competition will be hosted at Malta International Piano Competition in April 2018. It is worth highlighting the total prize fund which is 20 000 Euro (the 1st Prize - 10 000 Euro, the 2nd Prize - 5000 Euro, the 3rd Prize - 3000 Euro and special prize - 2000 Euro).
In-between the Competition famous artists are invited to perform with the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia and National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia: cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan, the pianists Nareh Arghamanyan and Lilit Grigoryan, violinists Fedor Rudin and Roman Kim, to name a few.
The Festival Program of 9 concerts is quite multi-genre: from contemporary to classical, from chamber to symphony.
The Festival and Competition days will culminate with a performance of the world-renowned violinist Maxim Vengerov on July 12.
