Artists and Compassion Fatigue | How to minimise burn out
Artists and people who work in community arts and cultural development are often faced with complex issues and traumas in the communities they work with.
Join us to find out how to keep on caring, while maintaining your own health and wellbeing.
Hear from Andrew Kazim, Practice Consultant for Youth at Anglicare WA, who has over ten year’s experience working with clients with complex issues in a community setting. Andrew will talk about compassion fatigue in the workplace - how to recognise the signs, the impact on our work and ways to minimise its effects.
Collectively, we will discuss some of the experiences faced by artists and arts workers on the coalface of community work, and how to care for ourselves so that we can continue to care for the communities we work with.
Who should attend? This is a professional development opportunity for artists working with communities, small organisations, groups and individuals running creative community projects, artists, arts coordinators, cultural workers.
