ATO mobile business visits

Find out how the ATO is protecting honest businesses

In August, we will be visiting businesses in Cairns (QLD) and surrounding areas. Our mobile business visits are part of our work to protect honest businesses from unfair competition by addressing black economy activities.

There will be a focus on providing education and assistance to businesses that need it to help them get back on track. All businesses should get a fair go. While most businesses do the right thing, some get an unfair advantage by not meeting all their tax and superannuation obligations.

During the session we will be discussing:

• why we are in your area

• common mistakes businesses make and how to avoid them.

• how the black economy affects all businesses and all Australians

Take the opportunity to speak with ATO staff about issues that concern you.

You can also stay for a 'Business record keeping' session 11:15am – 12:15pm, plus question time. You do not need to register for this session.
