Exploring feeding, addiction and decision-making!

After a successful inaugural event in Melbourne last year, the University of New South Wales proudly presents the Australian Appetitive Motivation Symposium 2019.

Featuring plenary sessions by Professor Trevor Robbins (Cambridge University) and Dr Yeka Aponte (John Hopkins University), and presentations by local and international researchers, the Australian Appetitive Motivation Symposium (AAMS) aims to bring together research and clinical scientists that are interested in the general field of appetitive motivation. This year, the symposium will be centred on three major themes: addiction to alcohol and drugs of abuse, ingestive behaviours, and the neural processing underlying decision-making.

Registration is free, however RSVP is essential for catering purposes.

Poster competition

In addition to presentations, there will also be a poster session and reception at the end of the day. Everyone is welcome to submit posters, from students to lab heads, and a prize will be given for best poster. Poster abstracts are limited to 250 words, and may be submitted to the Organising Committee at k.clemens@unsw.edu.au by June 8, 2019. Note that the maximum size of the poster boards is 1.8 metres tall by 1.8 metres wide.

The Symposium is hosted by the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and will be presented in Colombo Theatre A.

More detailed information on the day's program will be posted online at aams.psy.unsw.edu.au and circulated via email closer to the time.
