Our world is rapidly ageing. According to the World Health Organisation, by 2050, more than 1 in 5 people in the world will be over the age of 60! While living longer is undoubtedly a good thing, it also comes with an increased risk of age-related neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Thus we need to focus on what steps we can take now to not only live longer, but to live healthier for longer.
We explore how memory and cognitive function change with ageing and how lifestyle variables, such as diet, exercise and social engagement, can help lower your risk of dementia. Think of your brain as a fine wine- we will explore how you can help it to age more successfully!
