Babies and Food in the First Year (9 June 2020)

Darebin Maternal and Child Health Services is running sessions for parents of babies aged 0-12 months on introduction to solids. 

Introducing your baby to food can be both an exciting and challenging time. As your child grows and develops, there comes a time when they are ready to experience foods as well as continuing milk feeds. If your child is starting foods in the next few months, this session may be helpful.

The session is presented by a Maternal & Child Health Nurse and follow the current infant Feeding Guidelines. They include information on when to start offering foods to taste, how to start offering foods, what foods to start with, textures of foods and readiness to try finger foods, mealtime and feeding cues.
