Come along and learn the adorable art of Amigurumi with Richard Boyle (The Gay Hooker) and go home with your very own Baby Alien. In this class you will learn the basics of shaping and joining amigurumi pieces to create your very own crocheted cuties. You will be provided with the pattern and materials to make and customise your very own Alien Baby.
This is a 5 hour workshop with a 1 hour break for lunch at approx 12:30pm.
Teacher Bio:
Richard has been designing and making Amigurumi creations for over 15 years and has had his work featured in exhibitions and museums. He takes his inspiration from Pop and Queer culture and enjoys making characters which reflect his interests and experiences. Richard also makes crocheted characters for stop-motion animation and has had his work shown in film festivals around the world including Tropfest Junior 2019.
Materials/Equipment Required:
All equipment and materials will be provided by the instructor.
Participants can chose to bring their own crochet hooks (3mm - 4mm) and other equipment they may require (stitch markers, scissors, needles etc).
Skills required:
Participants should have a basic understanding of crochet. Stitches which will be used include Double Crochet (UK/Aus), Double Crochet Increase, Double Crochet Decrease. The Magic Circle technique will also be used but is not a requirement for participation. Patterns will be provided in both UK/Aus terminology and US terminology.

This fee also includes $10 for materials and equipment (as noted above).
