During this session, Jenn-Hui Tan will explore the importance of sustainable investing in today’s society and the impact it can have on both social and environmental issues the world is currently facing including climate change. The landscape of ESG ratings: Dan Daugaard; Deputy Head of Environmental, Social and Governance, Centre for Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Finance

There is evidence that internal ESG analysis is appealing to investors. In contrast, there is increasing cynicism of external ratings.
Dan reviews the landscape of ESG ratings agencies. By reviewing the purposes and value of external ratings, there are distinct lessons which can inform and improve the services of external agents as well as the ratings generated internally by investment managers.
