Barista Basics

Learn how to make coffee like a professional barista in this four-hour course.  Beginning with basic techniques and finishing with current industry knowledge, you will learn how to make the most popular espresso-based drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos and pure espresso. You'll also learn coffee theory, including coffee roasting and grinding tips.

What you'll learn:

- Select and grind coffee beans.

- Extract and serve espresso coffee using commercial espresso machines.

- Extract and monitor quality of espresso.

- Undertake milk texturing process.

- Clean espresso equipment.

- Practice in our simulated cafe environment, Cafe 411.

Do I need to be fluent in English?

You dont have to be fluent in English. Our experienced trainers will demonstrate the techniques you’ll be required to learn so you can watch and practice yourself.

Is your coffee school accredited?

Yes, Cafe 411 is a simulated hospitality training environment operated by The Malka Group trading as TMG College Australia. RTO ID – 21694.

Do I need to have a student or work visa to take a barista course?

No, there are no visa requirements. Everyone is welcome to attend one of our barista courses.
