The Back to Basics Workshops provide a forum for new ideas on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration. Their intention is to provide postgraduate students and ECRs with exposure to a broad range of thinking and research, and to give them opportunities to present their own work.
Back to Basics I was held as a satellite workshop to the AAIC Satellite Symposium in Sydney in September 2019. Back to Basics II will be a satellite workshop to the Australian Dementia Forum 2020 in Adelaide.
Shane Liddelow (NYU Langone, USA) and Katja Kanninen (University of Eastern Finland) are invited speakers and are keen to network with postgraduate students and ECRs.
Back to Basics II will be held on the premises of the
PRELIMINARY PROGRAM:
8.30 AM - Registration
9.00 AM - Welcome from the organisers
9.05 AM - Presentation by Shane Liddelow with questions
10.00 AM - Quick coffee/tea (can sit with this for the following talks)
10.15 AM - Talks by students / ECRs, 10 minutes with 5 minutes of questions each
12.15 PM - Lunch (Pre-ordered with registration)
13.00 PM - 5 minute flash talks by students in lieu of posters
14.00 PM - Presentation by Katja Kanninen with questions
14.30 PM - Three x 30 minute talks or six x 15 minute talks
16.00 PM - Networking - The brewery’s tap room opens to the public (~20 beers on tap plus other encouragement to network)
