Celebrating International Women's Day 2020 with special guests

The theme for International Women's Day 2020 is equality, and we have lined up four local, kick-arse women, to share with you their inspirational stories of bravery, friendship and standing strong. There will be an auction, door prizes and a raffle with some great prizes.

The evening will be MC'ed by one of Australia’s strongest female comedic talents, the amazingly talented Mandy Nolan. Mandy’s stand-up is known and loved for its rapid fire philandering and esoteric observations that emerge from the musings of what she describes as ‘a woman whose dilemma it is to navigate the new frontiers in the suburban badlands of human relationships and traverse that darkly hypocritical abyss that exists between action and belief.’

Mandy will be joined by:

• Sarah Rosborg, founder of Rafiki Mwema, will talk about the power of social media for a cause, and how one woman and a handful of friends started a charity that has attracted the attention of some world-famous influencers including SussexRoyals, Harry & Meghan.

• Rikki-Lee Petrie is the founder of Bod Squad, a 400 strong female only bootcamp in the Northern Rivers. She will talk about how it was the power of her 'girl gang' that made her dream a reality, and how she is impacting the lives of hundreds of women in appreciating themselves and their networks.
• Claire Harding is the founder and director of Barefruit Marketing. She started her business in her living room 8 years ago, and has grown it to be a thriving business that now helps other local business to succeed. Claire sits on the board of Rafiki Mwema and is passionate about helping other women on their road to success.
• Marese Emanuel is a stuntwoman and body-double. Marese will talk about how her ‘thriving off uncertainty’ attitude has seen her feature in Hollywood movies, compete at a competitive level in her sport and move to her very own island!

This is an all inclusive event - males are more than welcome to join the party!

100% of ticket proceeds will go to to locally run charity Rafiki Mwema, to support a social enterprise project for our older girls at Rafiki so they can leave us at 18 years old as strong, independent and self-sufficient young women. Rafiki’s purpose is to support vulnerable children who have been victims of sexual abuse in Kenya.
