No problem!Look no further than Ceramics - Handbuilding with Clay with this set of classes allowing you to pick and choose from a variety of options and hand forming techniques.Local clay artist and sculptor, Carolyn Warren-Langford will teach a complete lesson on a different technique with clay every week, with two glazing sessions over the term to add the finishing touches to your work.Join us for fun sessions where you can unwind from your busy schedule, get your hands into gorgeous clay and create something from a blob of mud that you'll treasure forever. But don’t come to just one!A handmade ceramic creation can liven up any home, as well as turn into a conversation piece if you’re entertaining and you get all the bragging rights for making it yourself!All of these classes are suitable for beginners as well as those who have had some experience with clay. Each lesson 2.5 hours, $50 + firing fee All clay, glaze and use of equipment and tools is included.Fun with Pinch pots Tuesday evening October 8 or Thursday morning October 10Pinch pots are super fun and easy to make and can become almost anything - Think berry bowls, breakfast bowls, bowls with polka dots, bowls with feet, fat bowls, fine bowls, with wavy edges or birds sitting on them, with handles or spouts, Pinch pots for plants, pots with big mouths turned into lolly jars or soap holders, turned into creatures, even telephone amplifiers... the list is endless! What will your pinch pot become?Decorating with Colour - Mishima Tuesday evening October 15 or Thursday morning October 17Bored with simply painting on underglaze when colouring your clay creations? Try something new and take your skill set to the next level with this easy and fun decorating technique which will inspire many future clay projects. You can decorate and colour the pinch pot you created in week one or use a previously prepared form provided in the class.Handmade ceramic Bells and Windchimes Tuesday evening October 22 or Thursday morning October 24Crushing on ceramic bells? Add a splash of colour and that lovely tinkling sound to your patio for the holiday season with a set of hand-made clay bells or beautiful wind chimes created by you!Clay Planters - Monsters, Pot heads or Face Plants Tuesday evening October 29, Thursday morning October 31Entertaining outside? Add a splash of colour and fun to your patio with quirky succulent planters created by you. Make planters with faces or even feet!Candle holders and Censers   Thursday morning November 7 onlyLit candles and the fragrant scent of incense help to create a mystical and magical atmosphere and what could be better than using a holder that you created with your own hands? You will design and form your own unique candle holder or censer and then pierce it with holes to allow the light to shine through!GLAZE WEEK Tuesday evening November 12 or Thursday morning November 14 Glazing week is your opportunity to apply glaze to your fired creations before they are fired for the final time. They will be ready to collect and take home to treasure approximately two weeks after the session.Creature Feature Tuesday evening November 19 or Thursday morning November 21 Ever wanted to make a dragon, octopus or other creature from clay? You can create a small creature sculpture using simple coiling and sculpting methods and watch his character develop before your very eyes!Breakfast in Bed or Delicious Dessert set Tuesday evening November 26 or Thursday morning November 28Imagine the pleasure of eating breakfast or dessert from a handmade bowl, spoon and plate set, all formed by your own hands. You will create your own ceramic breakfast or dessert set to take home and treasure in this fun class. It is so satisfying to eat from handmade tableware - and the food tastes even better!DIY Clay tools and equipment Tuesday evening December 3 or Thursday morning December 5Clay tools are expensive, right? They don't need to be! This class will show you how to make your own tools and equipment for clay from around the home or your local op shop!GLAZE WEEK Tuesday evening December 10 or Thursday morning December 12 Glazing week is your final opportunity for this year to apply glaze to your fired creations before they are fired for the final time. They will be ready to collect and take home to show off approximately one week after the session. Each lesson 2.5 hours, $50 + firing fee All clay, glaze and use of equipment and tools is included.
