BRAHMS
Sonata in G major, Op. 78
Sonata in A major, Op. 100
Sonata in D minor, Op. 108
WEBERN
Four Pieces, Op. 7
The extraordinary duo of violinist Christian Tetzlaff and pianist Lars Vogt presents all three of Brahms' stirring violin sonatas, with a small dose of concentrated Webern sprinkled in for good measure. Vogt, who has played with major orchestras since his debut with Sir Simon Rattle at age 15, "offsets moodiness with lucidity and a subtle sense of drama" (The Guardian, UK); Tetzlaff's enormous sound and dramatic range of tone and color are balanced by a vivid, understated musicality.
