This professional development workshop is for anyone in the emergency management or community sector that manages information and/or communicates with members of the public after an emergency. Using the best-practice Communicating in Recovery guide the training promotes effective communication for those working in emergency recovery. The workshop will explore strategies to help overcome the physical and psychological challenges affected communities may face after a disaster. The aim is to assist people to communicate more effectively post-disaster, raise awareness of recovery communications and provide an opportunity for recovery workers to network and share ideas. PLEASE NOTE: Cancellation policy The cancellation policy is in keeping with that of the International Program at Australian Red Cross: “A 50% penalty applies for cancellation within five business days of the course start. A 20% admin fee is charged for all earlier cancellations and for all changes within five business days of the course start. No refund is given for non-attendance without notification.”
