This short course has been designed to ensure you get the most out of your new compact camera. There are many things you can do with a compact, rather than point and shoot!

Why You Will Love This Course: This short course has been designed to ensure you get the most out of your new compact camera. There are many things you can do with a compact, rather than point and shoot! We will give you loads of suggestions for achieving better composition, but we will also look at how to make your pictures lighter or darker, and how to change the overall colour of your shots in tricky situations. In addition to this, we will go through the most popular scene modes and discuss how they can help you easily get consistently great results.

This course will explain the principles of better composition, it will take a look at the 3 key elements of exposure, when and how to use priority modes as well as much more practical techniques you can apply to get the best results.

Use your compact camera to its full potential and master the following techniques:

  • Composition

  • Mastering focus

  • Playing with different perspectives

  • Selecting camera scene modes

  • ISO control

  • How to select white balance

  • Transferring your photos to mobile devices using camera Wifi

  • Using available light, natural light portraits

  • Controlling your flash

Duration: 2 Hours

What To Bring? Your Camera fully charged and camera manual, notepad and pen.  You may find it beneficial to keep existing photos on your memory card for critique by our trainer.

About Your Trainer: Lindsay has been running photography workshops in Adelaide for 11 years since moving here from his native Scotland. He studied Audio Visual Technology in his home town of Edinburgh, before moving to London and then to Berlin. After owning a studio and photo lab in the UK, he then moved to Australia to pursue his passion for photography and teaching. As well as conducting training for Diamonds, he also conducts the photography training program for Adelaide Zoo.
