We have a challenge to raise a minimum of US$ 5,000/- so as to earn a permanent spot on their platform. A permanent spot means being able to tap into a global network of supporters and donors for the sustainability of our project.

Spice Without Borders is a global leadership academy and incubator for social change innovation by those at the margins of society. Through its 6 months Accelerator Program, it offers mentorship and one-on-one training to those who want to enact change in their communities. Participants are from diverse backgrounds; gender, ethnicity, race, colour, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or socioeconomic status, sharing this diversity as they live and learn together.

Challenge

There exists social issues that keep marginalizing people at the backyard of communities in Kenya. With inadequate knowledge of techniques that help create change, many only seem to see these problems but they do NOT take action. It takes only one reason to become problem solvers for those who understand. Social Change Accelerators who have overcome adversity play a key role in creating change in their communities, providing solutions to these problems expanding the diversity and inclusion space

Solution

The project will empower participants from diverse backgrounds; status, orientation, cultural, religious, economic and educational with skills needed to start sustainable projects in their communities. They could be activists, creatives, entrepreneurs, initiators or innovators. They are exposed to methods, techniques and theories relevant to their personal ideas. Our emphasis is personal development, project planning, management, public speaking, finance, fundraising, communication, access to mentorship.

Long-Term Impact

Over the long term, we will create social change accelerators at the backyard of society with skills to help their communities take action on identified issues. Will stir up the innovation of new social change models allowing our participants to monetize their creativity. Create sustainable job opportunities when they start projects. Bridge the gender and social inequalities at the backyard of society. Expand the diversity and inclusion space and connect leaders from within their communities.
