Tara has always had a keen interest in developing medical technologies that are transformative. What can be shocking is that everyone seems to know what problems exist, yet there is often no change. By taking an approach that is led by identifying problems first, then developing healthcare technologies with the clinician and patient front of mind, genuine, impactful, innovative solutions can be delivered.

Tara dedicated over a decade of her professional life to improving safety of patients & clinicians by developing the trophon, a device that has altered the global landscape of infection control in Ultrasound.

More recently, Tara was introduced to Baymatob™ and the Oli™ device, which aims to improve limitations in Obstetric monitoring, and provide the best possible outcomes for mothers, babies and clinicians. Tara hopes that an end-user, solution focused approach can become the norm, especially in traditional healthcare arenas that have been overlooked, including women’s health.

Bio

Tara is a MedTech expert with 15 years’ industry experience, having worked at two of Australia’s successful companies in the industry – ResMed and Nanosonics. She is currently the COO of Baymatob™, an early-stage business working to improve womens' health. Specifically, Baymatob is developing a device for pregnancy and labour monitoring, to improve health outcomes for both mothers and babies. Tara is passionate about early-stage businesses, advising numerous start-ups. Tara has a genuine interest and track record of identifying opportunities to improve healthcare outcomes and building commercially-viable technology solutions.
