Creative Acrylic Painting - Nature, Birds and Animals

For beginners, these workshops will introduce you to painting with acrylics and no previous experience is required. If you are an experienced painter the workshops are setup to help you go to the next level. Acrylics are a fabulous medium as they are easy to work with, colours are vibrant, and they dry quickly.

You can choose your subject from the natural world of animals and birds in their natural environment. Or alternatively you may choose to paint your pet. Short on inspiration? No worries there are many possibilities and we will help you find something of interest.

You will produce a great artwork you can proudly display. You will develop or enhance your skills in:

• Picture composition
• Drawing
• Knowledge of how to mix paints and match colours
• A range of painting skills and techniques

Live For Art classes provide a supportive and friendly environment for students to build confidence and develop their art practice with guidance and feedback from their tutor.

Workshops run on Tuesday evenings (7pm to 9.30pm) session (also available in the morning 10am to 12.30pm). Dates in this series are 14/7; 21/7; 28/7; 4/8; 11/8.

Your tutor is Graeme West. Graeme is a trained artist who has exhibited widely. He works from a studio in Park Orchards and is inspired by nature and people, painting acrylic works full of colour and emotion. Graeme is a natural teacher and loves helping people achieve their visions. Graeme has a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.

How it works:

You purchase a series of 5 weekly sessions. Over the 5 weeks you will be introduced to ideas on composing a picture, drawing, and acrylic painting techniques to build a picture that creatively captures a subject.

Total tuition cost is $250 per person for the 5 week course (including booking fee). Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 8 people. Some basic materials are provided to get novice students started. After you have enrolled, a required and suggested materials list will be provided. The cost of the suggested materials is approximately $40-$50.

NOTICE RE SOCIAL ISOLATION - The space is assessed as suitable to hold up to 15 people, but class maximums will be 8 students. All participants will have their own desk. To ensure the safety of all, students will be required to use hand sanitizer on entry to the space. Students will have their own equipment or disinfectant wipes provided.

Do not attend the class if you are experiencing fever, chills or sweat, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose of have a loss of taste or smell. (A full refund will be provided if you are unwell).
