“A boy’s story is the best that is ever told”, Charles Dickens once asserted.
David Copperfield, the story of a badly treated boy, was Dickens’ favourite amongst his works and has remained a huge favourite with readers. There is now a new film version to enjoy, with Dev Patel, an English actor, the son of Indian parents, in the title role. Susannah Fullerton will discuss the charms of this wonderful novel.
