Much of the succeses we have in life, both personal and professional, will depend on how well we “pitch” ourselves, or more simply how well we “sell” ourselves. A pitch should tell the story of you and/or your business. A bad pitch can cost you more than just a second meeting. Raising capital from investors can be very challenging and time-consuming. Therefore, it is always crucial that we convey in a manner that shows our business as a compelling and interesting story.
At the end of the workshop, learners should be able to:
Identify what the investors are looking for;
Build a Pitch Deck as an exciting and compelling story to showcase to investors;
Practise using body language and voice variation to deliver your story; and
Create an effective “call-to-action” to entice the investors.
NOTE: This exclusive half-day workshop is for startups/businesses which are ready to pitch to investors. The objective of the workshop is to groom and prepare startups/businesses to pitch effectively to investors.
This limited-run, highly experiential MasterClass is suitable for any startup and entrepreneur who is planning to pitch for funding (be it government grant or angel investments). The workshop is intentionally designed to be delivered in small group (max: 15 pax) to foster maximum interaction, allowing learners to work on their individual pitches and get constructive feedback from an entrepreneur/investor himself as well as from the rest of the learners, therefore it has limited seats.

Guest Trainer: Steven Ong
Steven is the Principal Trainer and MD of ForwardLeap Training Lab as well as the MD of Co-V, a coworking space. Prior to his current position, he had been the MD of a serviced office operator; MD of an angel investment company; CEO of a 2,000 members strong industry association and CMO of a regional corporate training and business consultancy company.
Besides mentoring start-ups and personally invested in a few businesses, Steven had been invited to judge many pitching events, included EDGE Hack 2017, Republic Polytechnic Pitch Day 2017, Singapore Institute of Technology inaugural Hackathon 2017, INSEAD Demo Day 2017 etc.
He is currently a Start-up Mentor with Temasek Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic and TRIVE (Venture Capital) Next50 initiative. Steven is a regular regional speaker and trainer on topics relating to Personal Financial Planning and Entrepreneurship. He had trained many startups in many organisations on Entrepreneurship and Pitching.
He was recently invited as the keynote speaker for an international youth entrepreneurship and leadership conference and was awarded the Best Speaker for the event.
