Directors Convening 2019

 Achieving the Dream is pleased to be hosting a 1.5 day Directors Convening for our veteran programs and our newest Gateway to College program site and partners from Gateway Community College.

Directors will spend a day and a half connecting with like-minded peers for sharing, discussion, inspiration and fun. The convening will feature director-led discussions, engagement around performance benchmarks, highlighting best practices, leadership-focused content, and celebration of program performance.

Rate: $159/night

Note: The hotel will honor the group rate for those wishing to add additional nights int the weekend to your reservation. 

Reservation Procedures: When filling out your registration ticket, please select the nights hotel accomodations are needed. We will submit a rooming list to the hotel June 17th, 2019.

Reservations received after this date will be accepted on a space and/or rate available basis only.

Check in time: 4:00 p.m.

Check out time: 11:00 a.m.

Parking: The hotel provides hotel guests Valet parking an overnight rate of $28.00.

Flights:

If you are traveling into New Haven from outside of the Northeastern U.S., The Tweed New Haven airport (HVN) may not be your most convenient option (flights tend to be infrequent, expensive, and not direct from many airports). You might have better luck with the Bradley Airport in Hartford (less than one hour’s drive to New Haven), but for those of us on the west coast, BDL still has limited options and they tend to be expensive.

You can save time and money by catching a direct flight to Newark (EWR) or NYC (JFK or LGA).

• From EWR, your best bet is the train to New Haven. It is a 2 hour+ train ride, but the Amtrak station is right there at the airport, so you can roll your bag straight from the plane to the train.
• If you prefer to rent a car or take a shuttle, JFK and LGA are great options for low-cost, direct flights and, you can make the trip to New Haven in 1 ½ to 2 hours.

Are meals Provided?

Yes, breakfast and lunch provided both days of the convening. Participants are responsible for evening meals. Thursday July 18th, we will host a social hour with passed hors de'vours. 

Do I need to do anything with my hotel reservation?

No, once you register and choose the dates for a hotel room, Alina will add you to the group rooming list due July 17th to the Blake Hotel. The rooming list is the official list of hotel confirmations. When you arrive to the Blake Hotel, your name is in the system under the group Gateway to College and you would need to provide a credit card for room payment.
