WHAT TO EXPECT
My classes are mixture or Hatha and Vinyasa. Vinyasa means 'flow', movement or position. Hatha is also translated as ha meaning 'sun' and tha meaning 'moon'. Hatha yoga is a path towards creating balance and uniting opposites.
What it means in the real world for you: We will start gently to warm you up and prepare your body for movement. (Some Pranayama = 'breathing exercise' involved.) We continue warming you up and building the heat (quite often also a sweat) with the movement of Vinyasa. We might pause and enjoy a deep breath or five to deepen the effect of posture and observe your alignment with Hatha. We close off with a short meditation practice to reflect and observe the amazing changes in your body and mind.
My classes are suitable for all levels but generally people who like the feeling of a good physical stretch, and a mixture of mental awareness and yoga philosophy will enjoy my class.
