WHO WE ARE The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a nonprofit public benefit corporation that empowers youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free.
No one, especially a young person, likes to be lectured about what he or she can or cannot do. Thus, we provide the facts that empower youth to choose not to take drugs in the first place.
Through a worldwide network of volunteers, 50 million drug prevention booklets have already been distributed, tens of thousands of drug awareness events have been held in some 180 countries and Truth About Drugs public service announcements have been aired on more than 500 television and radio stations. These materials and activities have helped people around the world learn about the destructive side effects of drugs and thereby make the decision for themselves to not use them.
The Foundation provides information, materials and training to those that qualify to start a Truth About Drugs education and prevention activity in your area. This may be as simple as distributing free drug free world booklets in your local area or at large public events. You will be part of a team or create your own team. In some cases some of our volunteers will be available to help you speak with and at other community groups, with local counselors and at police gatherings. Most commonly we help professional teachers and do presentations in front of class rooms. You may visit us at Ascot Vale or our website. If you qualify but live to far we are able to send the comprehensiveness and free educators kit to you so you can get you started. (see website for details)
