Dubai Startup Hub Series: Suhail Khoury of Soul Artists, Helen Farmer of Dubai Eye, Hamza Khan and Omar AlMheiri of letswork
Dubai Startup Hub is an initiative of Dubai Chamber; our main purpose is to provide clarity and direction in the journey of a startup entrepreneur.
Dubai Startup Hub concludes the 3rd season of its networking series this week. The series has consisted of 10 sessions taking place every week on Wednesday. The purpose being to further build the community of startups in Dubai, providing a platform for networking and exchanging ideas, and sharing the best stories of successful startups to date.
The networking events are centered around bringing the Dubai startup ecosystem together through inspirational talks by renowned speakers and business leaders.
Suhail Khoury will share his journey of building his talent booking platform, Soul Artists:
About Suhail Khoury (CEO of Soul Artists)
Suhail Khoury is a performing artist and entrepreneur from Jordan, currently the Co-founder and CEO of Soul Artists online talent booking platform. Having graduated from the UK with a diploma in Information Technology in Global Societies and gaining experience from banking, real-estate, event management, performing arts, and technology development has made him one of the most well-rounded tech entrepreneurs out there.
Helen Farmer will share her experience of freelancing in the city, talking through her multiple ventures;
About Helen Farmer (Founder)
Helen Farmer is a mum of two, journalist and blogger. She has been in Dubai for 11 years, working as a magazine editor, and now hosts Afternoons with Helen Farmer on Dubai Eye 103.8fm. The founder of award-winning parenting blog The Mothership, she also juggles freelance writing and conducting weddings as a celebrant.
Hamza Khan and Omar AlMheiri will highlight how letswork is supporting startups in the city and how the company grew from Emaar's in-house innovation lab E25:
About Hamza Khan and Omar AlMheiri (Co-founders of Letswork)
Letswork is a community of pop-up co-working spaces in the UAE. An asset-light co-working concept, partnering with existing venues to offer inspiring, affordable and flexible workspaces to freelancers, SMEs and corporates. Since its launch in February 2018, Letswork has grown to a community of over 1,000 active users using their 20 locations in Dubai and Sharjah. Omar was born in Abu Dhabi and raised in Dubai. He graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Business Administration in June 2017. Hamza grew up in Dubai and moved to London at the age of 18. He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a degree in Law before joining Clifford Chance LLP. They were both selected for the E25 program at EMAAR and joined forces in December 2017 to launch Letswork.
Most recently, Omar and Hamza were nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Arabian Business Start-Up Awards 2018.
