Building a Data Warehouse: From Greenfield to Production in under 10 months

In order to better cater for its growing ranks of customers, Slido needed to go through various transformations in the past year. One of them was building a Data Warehouse, whose non-existence was found to be a limiting factor to both better decisions and data-enabled features.

In this presentation we'll go through our experiences of:

- starting at a greenfield and arriving at production-ready solution in about 10 months

- what it takes to build the three parts of a Data Warehouse (Data, People, Technology) with AWS and industry

-standard open-source solutions

- some lessons we've learned along the way, and

- an outlook towards the future.
