SYNOPSIS

Hydrogen as an energy storage medium is progressively becoming more competitive.  Work undertaken by Siemens is leading the development envelope.  Hydrogen is created by electrolysis of water from renewable sources and the hydrogen can be stored for multiple uses.  The stored energy released from the combustion of the hydrogen is CO2 free and environmentally friendly.  The efficient Proton Exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis technology will be explained and examples of the multiple applications discussed.

SPEAKER

Murray Lyster, Executive Manager Drive Technology, Siemens

Murray has been employed by Siemens for approximately 20yrs in many varied roles, mainly in Sales and General Management for Industrial products, systems, solutions and services.  He is currently involved with two major Siemens portfolios: Mining Solutions and Hydrogen Solutions.

Murray has worked in the mining industry for most of his career and has been involved in helping many tier 1 and tier 2 miners implement innovative technological solutions. He loves to listen to customers describe the bottlenecks in their supply chain, or processes and then help them identify solutions that provide long term value.

Hydrogen is a new and exciting portfolio for Siemens. As we look to decarbonise our energy supply, energy storage is paramount, and Murray is a passionate advocate of the role hydrogen has to play - from mobility, to re-electrification to decarbonising gas networks, the role of hydrogen is vast.

This meeting is scheduled for 5:30pm for networking with 6:00pm start for Presentation.
