2015 Emily Beazley's Kures for Kids Fair is September 20th from 11-6 at the Chicago School for Agricultural Sciences. A fun-filled family fair to include food, sweets, local vendors, petting zoo, kids games with prizes, raffles, music and more. More details to come as we plan our first Kare-Fair.
Emily Beazley was an amazing 12 year old girl whose fight to live, and the way she did it, inspired so many people around the world. Emily battled an extremely aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma three times over four years. Unfortunately, Emily passed away on May 18, 2015. Emily was always concerned about the other kids fighting cancer, and wished they didn't have to go through what she did. Approximately two years before passing, when the future looked bright and cancer free for Emily, she drew up plans for a foundation she named Kures for Kids. The logo is her art work that she drew for the foundation. She planned on starting it after becoming a pediatric oncology nurse. She wanted to help find a cure for pediatric cancer so that the medicines are less toxic, work for all children, not some, and eventually end this horrible disease. We plan to honor her wishes.
100% of all money raised and donated to Kures for Kids will go directly to funding pediatric cancer research. We have teamed up with the Cure It Foundation's Emily Beazley's Demand for a Cure chapter, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to spending every dollar raised on research. We, along with Dr. Jason Canner of the Cure It Foundation (and one of Emily's oncologists) will choose the cancer research in need of the funding. We will fund research for all types of pediatric cancer, not just the type Emily had. Please join us in trying to end this horrible disease.
Thank you on behave of The Cure It Foundation, Emily Beazley's Demand For A Cure Chapter.
