Explore Art Materials and Techniques with Michelle Caithness

Join artist Michelle Caithness and explore a range of art materials and techniques to gain a broad understanding of the different mediums you can use to create art.

Each session, Michelle will introduce you to different mediums and demonstrate techniques, which you will be able to practice as well.

You will explore the following mediums, including brushes, paper, canvases and associated artists’ tools:

Week 1: Drawing – pencil / charcoal / conte /chalk / graphite
Week 2: Pastels – dry / oil
Week 3: Watercolour / inks / gauche
Week 4: Acrylic paint
Week 5: Oil paint
Michelle will offer you artists’ tips during the course, and you will have the opportunity to ask her any questions about particular mediums in which you are interested, including the right brands to purchase for you. You will also have the opportunity to discuss future artistic projects you plan to undertake, and which mediums would be suitable.
