INCORPORATING PRACTICAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND TANGIBLE PRACTICE STRATEGIES, THIS TRAINING AIMS TO ASSIST IN BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND CAPACITY FOR SUPPORTING YOUNG WOMEN.
SESSION GOALS
Understand the nature and construct of power and control in abusive relationships
Understand young women’s experiences of adolescent development and the unique vulnerabilities and opportunities for intervention these create
Understand the role that substances can play in the tactics of power, control and coercion
Gain confidence in supporting the safety and empowerment of young women
Improve service responses to this vulnerable group
Tangible strategies for engaging with young women with complex needs
Learn about the Feminist Practice Framework and how this can be utilised when supporting young women experiencing intimate partner violence, family violence and substance use
