. The people of Monaco take this day very seriously, as they celebrate it magnificently. In particular, they gather at the Saint Devote Chapel and burn a boat there. This act illustrates the legend of Sainte Devote. The prince and princess of Monaco usually take part in this religious ceremony with a torchlight procession.
