Perfect for business owners who just wants to know where the business is heading and how to read and use the financial reports effectively

Class dates are 2 days over 2 weeks. 29th/01 and 5th/02

Finance Officers and bookkeepers will gain confidence and understanding when preparing reports for outside entities such as not for profit boards, government funding agencies, banks and directors.A healthy business has healthy financials and your accountant will thank you at tax time for making their job easier!Our friendly trainer will guide you through the following areas with a mix of practical exercises and interesting scenarios to assist in making what is sometimes seen as a “complicated” subject easy.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Producers relating to Assets and Deprecation
  • What is an asset under Australian Accounting Standards
  • Calculating Deprecation – Straight Line and Diminishing methods
  • Entering asset, deprecation and disposal transactions in MYOB
  • Calculating balance day adjustments
  • Recording balance day adjustments in MYOB
  • Example EOY rollover checklist
  • Rolling a financial year in MYOB
  • Xero demonstration for Assets, Deprecation and Journals

Unit of Study

The course is eligible for professional development hours and can be undertaken as a unit of study from the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping course with classroom or online/self-paced* options available.

You will receive the assessment information and phone and email support over your quoted time period. An official Statement of Attainment will be issued once you are marked “Competent”. WiseClick Training is a Registered Training Organisation – No 52602.

Requirements:

Attendees must have had some exposure to Xero or similar accounting software and be using Excel spreadsheets at an intermediate level. We expect attendees to have some understanding of financial reports and/or previous accounts/bookkeeping experience.

After the Course:

To enhance your learning experience we like you to complete homework after each class and bring along a USB to save the exercise files. The more you practise the more confident you will become.
