“Food for Thought”: Civic Tech Breakfast Event — Tech for Townships?

This Civic Tech breakfast session will provide a platform for entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts and others to engage and exchange ideas about technology in South African townships. The event will explore how South African township enterprises can develop and grow its enterprises using the latest technology.

We have put together an interesting panel of speakers who are in the tech townships space.

Our Panel

Collen Lethu Masango managing director of Cityzen Solutions

Cityzen Solution is an urban planning consultancy based in Gauteng. It offers advisory, research and solutionist support across a range of development areas, including economic development, urban planning and human settlements. Lethu has a combined fifteen years of local government and private sector development experience.

Masango will present a focused on Masters Research on ICT4D, honing in on the experience of a local startup operating in Soweto.

Nothile Mpisi: General Manager eKasiLabs at The Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub offers a number of incubation programmes. The Innovation Lab has eKasiLabs which provides business development support to start-ups in the TIHMC priority sectors in various townships in Gauteng through collaboration with various partners including local government and academic institutions. Mpisi is the eKasiLabsSoweto programme manager.

Sandile Mahlaba from Microsoft South Africa

Mahlaba is the Microsoft’s Provincial PS Executive, he is also the KZN & MPL Leader of Radical Digital Transformation.
