Free Speech, Equality and the Limits of Law: A Debate on the Statement of Principles

February 28, 5:30pm - 7pm

With Sadie Etemad (Managing Lawyer, S.E.T. Law) and Susan Richer (Bencher, Law Society of Ontario)

Food will be provided.

------------

The Law Society of Ontario has mandated that all lawyers and paralegals adopt a "statement of principles" acknowledging their obligation to promote equality and diversity. This debate will delve into whether this statement is a legitimate step towards achieving diversity and equality or whether it is unconstitutional compelled speech.
