Paul Gurney
With extensive experience leading small to medium arts organisations, Paul brings first-hand knowledge and a passion for attracting support for unconventional and experimental artistic projects, and for establishing responsive and effective governance and organisational structures.
Since graduating with a degree in arts management from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Paul has held leadership and board roles with numerous arts organisations including Next Wave, Open House Melbourne, Freeplay: Independent Games Festival and the Arts Industry Council of Victoria.
Through these roles Paul has attracted substantial financial and in-kind support for a diverse range of artistic projects through strategies across business development, philanthropic relationships and private partnerships.
Paul has most recently overseen support for more than 120 Queensland-based cultural and creative organisations as a Senior Manager with Brisbane City Council.
