A filmed social experiment that begins to resemble an internet comments section.
A renowned method of experimental social psychology is put to the test when artist Leigh Ledare takes a diverse group of twenty-eight participants (representing a cross-section of Chicago), as well as ten psychologists trained in the method, and asks them to study themselves—an abstract “task” that pushes the participants to examine their identities, roles, desires and biases. Far more revelatory than a standard documentary, this high concept art project/film hybrid speaks to the state of contemporary socio-political discourse
“...a two-hour glimpse of what happens when ‘people stop being polite and start getting real’—or at least, when they think they do.” - Steve Macfarlane, BOMB Magazine
