The Jedermann production with Tobias Moretti in the lead role captivated audiences of the Salzburg Festival in 2018. Because of its enormous success under the direction of Michael Sturminger, this star ensemble will be seen once again on the stage in front of the cathedral, or, if it happens to rain, in the Grosses Festspielhaus. Valery Tscheplanowa will bring a fresh breeze to this dramatic highlight of the Festival as the new Paramour.
At the center of this tragedy stands “Jedermann”, who, shortly before his death, repents for his dissolute life and is subsequently forgiven by God. Jedermann is a play which, independent of time and space, sends an important message about people and the lives they lead. The central motif is a reflection of one’s own life and the willingness to change the course of that life.
