Join the experts at the Wildflower Garden as they share everything you need to know to prepare, establish and maintain a thriving henhouse and/or ducks and you can even take home your own chicks!

The morning will involve:

-       Meet at Caley’s Pavilion and meet our newly hatched chicks!

-       Short presentation on the basics of keeping poultry

-       Visit to the organic garden to learn more about poultry-keeping in action with free-range ducks and chickens including Silkies and Australorps. Discuss care, behaviour, diet and disease prevention.

Take home your own chicks!

Pre-orders must be placed by Thursday 2 October as eggs will go in the incubator 4-5 weeks ahead of the workshop. Cost is $20 per chick with a minimum of two, maximum of four. We hope to have leghorns (a laying breed) and Wyandotte bantams (they lay little eggs and are very cute).

You must be booked to attend the workshop in order to purchase chicken/s to pick up on the day. Please email sustainability@kmc.nsw.gov.au to reserve up to 2 chickens.
