Welcome to this Kubernetes hands-on meetup!
In this free 3.5-hour workshop at Unity, we'll go through the basics of Kubernetes:
How Kubernetes’ architecture works
The basic concepts and resources
Pod, Service, Deployment, Namespaces, Secrets, ConfigMaps
How to deploy applications in a best-practice manners
RBAC, Pod Affinity, Network Policies, Resource Limits, Taints, CRDs
How to expose your service to the world and monitor it
The workshop is one-track, and focused on the essentials and 101 concepts of Kubernetes.
Prerequisites:
A laptop (the workshop will be browser-based)
Basic knowledge of Linux, Bash and System Administration
Use the Unix command line to perform routine tasks
Use git to create, push and review commits
Be able to read and write in a structured text format, such as JSON or YAML
A hunger for learning more about Kubernetes ;)
