Face to face and "in the room" training is so much better than online training (even though we know that can be amazing too!) When you first design and develop your website - it really helps to be a part of a group, share and bounce your ideas and simply "feel the energy" that is created by everyone's ideas. This is no ordinary Wordpress Course. It goes far beyond click tap, click, build and make "a website". You truly design and create your website We want you to be able to have your website actually work for you rather than sitting there in cyber space gathering dust and spiderwebs! Every person in the room gets to have one on one time with the trainer (me! Kate) as well as a personal follow up session where we go through individual questions, queries and simply do what it takes to get you to launch your site. Kate shares: How to ensure that your website is right for both you and your customers Help you determine the purpose for your website (something that you can actually monitor and track) How to manage your time with your website (using your "down time" to make the busy times easier and cutting out the duplication by getting your Social Media and website to talk to each other) How many things you can do with a website: Social Blogging & Information, Create Membership Sites, Create Online Employee Management & Training Systems, and more ... it really is limitless! How to test and monitor your site (so you know how secure it is, what content is and isn't working and basically - whether or not it is actually working!) Before the Course: We chat and say g'day - and work out what you are truly hoping to achieve with your website We look at what type of business you are in (or hope to be) so as to ensure that we have relevant examples for you on the day We go through what you need to have on the day to make the most out of the course. Day 1: What makes a good or a bad website? What things catch our attention when we go to a website? (If applicable) What do we like about our own website at the moment? (or not like?) What do we like about competitors or similar business websites? Let's have fun exploring for a moment What does all the jargon mean? (Themes, Plugins, Posts, Pages .... blah blah blah ). We explain it all in everyday language you can understand. We look at Page Design - what will be on each of the pages? We discuss Content: are we saying the right words and sharing the right pictures that our customer will actually engage with or will we simply piss them off? (Let's be honest, we have all been to those websites where we feel overwhelmed with all those **big words**. If they don't understand us, how are they to know if they are to buy from us?) Day 2: Royalty-Free Images (What are they and where do we find them?) Menus & "Widgets" (yet another of the strange words) All the "fancy bits" that are relevant to the people in the room: Online shops, payment systems, membership programs, forms ... (The bits here change based upon who is in the room and what their needs are, after all, business and the "online world" is not a one size fits all situation) Basic marketing of your website and SEO (where we tell Google how to find you!) and of course ... Lots of time where you can be creating your website as you go Access to our Facebook Group for ongoing support Access to online course materials and more ...  After the Course: Join the Students "Support Group" where you can continue to learn, share and ask questions about Wordpress on an ongoing basis. All questions get responded to within 1 business day and depending on the query, a video on "how to" may be created and posted within the group.
