Meditation is commonly considered as a method for relaxation and getting in touch with our feelings. And it is. But from a Buddhist perspective, meditation is a mind that concentrates on a virtuous object (such as compassion, love, cherishing, remembering the kindness of others, and many more) and is the main cause for mental peace. The more familiar our mind is with virtue, the calmer and more peaceful it becomes…and who wouldn’t want that in their lives?
During these introductory classes led by Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Centre’s Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Mila, we’ll learn about meditation’s many benefits, practice techniques and tips, and how to incorporate meditation in our busy lives. Plenty of time for interactive discussion on practical methods for starting and maintaining a meditation practice.
