Mastering the art of the difficult conversation - From Avoidance to Action

An interactive one day workshop for those who want to stop avoiding the difficult converstaions and start taking action.

Who's it for?

This workshop is designed for people who want to:

  • stop avoiding the difficult conversations
  • reduce the anxiety associated with a tricky conversation
  • increase their confidence in their own skills and ability to get a good outcome
  • step up by reclaiming their voice

This one day workshop is aimed at smart people who are frustrated at avoiding the hard conversations. They are ready and willing to learn new skills and mindsets to make the difficult conversations easy. They see that by avoiding the difficult conversations, they are missing out on opportunities for career advancement, self expression and making a difference.

Ideal for people leaders, team managers, professionals and knowledge workers.

What is it?

This interactive workshop explores the intersection of neuroscience, mindfulness, leadership theory and positive psychology.

It equips you with the MINDSET and SKILLS to enable authentic, real conversations that get better results - both at work and at home. The learning on the day can be applied to any conversation you have been avoiding.

This workshop will help you identify that the mindset we normally apply to these conversations is not helpful, and help you explore new mindsets that work for you vs against you. It will increase your self awareness into the thoughts and feelings that get in the way of even starting a conversation and help you reframe these. It will equip you with tools and techniques that you can apply to make having a difficult conversation easy. And it will help you with how to get things back on track if they go awry.

Why is it important?

We can spend a lot of time ruminating and actively avoiding conversations. This is stressful, mentally taxing and very unproductive. It impacts on our mental wellbeing, the way we turn up at home and work, and ultimately our happiness.

When we lack the courage, skills or confidence to have the tricky conversations, we take a back seat in our own life and career. We hold ourselves back.

On the other hand, when we develop the confidence and skill to master a difficult conversation, the world suddenly opens up to us. We become better people leaders, more effective in our jobs, and free up that space in our heads from ruminating, stressing and avoiding - space we can then use to move forward.

If you have ever had the experience of having a tricky conversation and then thinking "that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!" then you know the relief that can come from moving from avoidance to action.

Workshop Outcomes
