Coming together to be in stillness with others is a unique and special experience.

At the Grief Centre of WA our meditation sessions are offered with guidance and support to relax the body and quieten the mind.  Through simple breathing techniques, visualisations and basic instructions, each week offers a different path toward peace and stillness.

You are warmly welcome to attend whether you are in the grip of intense grief, have a mind that just won't stop, or you feel drawn to experience the benefits of group meditation.  All sessions are non-denominational and are appropriate for both beginner and experienced meditators.

The Grief Centre is an unfunded NGO that offers support groups, creative workshops and 1-to-1 counselling for people living with heartache and grief.  Your donation to support the work of the Grief Centre is appreciated.

Feel free to come regularly or whenever you can, on your own or with family and/or friends.  We look forward to your RSVP and to meeting you on a Saturday real soon.

OUR MEDITATION TEACHERS

tdckfk.jpgIsabel Granado - Isabel learned Transcendental Meditation when she was 26 and has been meditating since then. Later, Isabel started practicing yoga and, in this context, she explored different ways of quieting the mind through meditation (to focus the attention), Pranayama (to clean up the mind of residual thoughts and open the way to more subtle states of awareness), and Yoga Nidra (to deeply relax).  As a seeker, Isabel continued her inner development, learning Reiki, Shiatsu, Tarot, and completing two Yoga Teacher trainings: one focused on teaching, the other on the philosophy of Yoga. Simultaneously, Isabel has been studying Vedanta (Indian philosophy for self-knowledge), doing short trainings and a 1-month camp in Rishikesh, India in 2018

Through daily meditation, Isabel puts together all her learning, and is currently sharing her practice with groups, especially with those interested in cherishing more inner peace, wellbeing and self-awareness.

Melissa Frey - Melissa, a qualified Nurse and Yoga Teacher, joining the Grief Centre Meditation Team to provide the opportunity for the community to come together and meditate. The benefits of meditation on all levels of our being – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - are well documented.  Melissa has taught meditation and self-development workshops for many decades, with a particular focus on empowering women.  She believes that with the busy-ness of our modern stressful lifestyles, meditation is the key to creating a sense of peace, calm, clarity and contentedness.

Ursula Linhoff - Ursula has been practicing meditation for over 35 years.  Her background is in Tibetan Buddhist meditation traditions with a focus on visualisation as an aide to focus and understanding.  She is a coach and brings a broad interest in personal development and spirituality to her meditations. Her passion is working to support personal healing, growth and transformation.
