About this Event:
We are going to be exploring how to use R-markdown and R-Notebooks.
Please note that the meetup is aimed at people who have attended the R introductory workshop or have some basic R knowledge.
Have been wondering what these tools are? Have you heard about them, but don’t know where to start? This meet-up will introduce you to the basics and some tricks and tips to make amazing documents containing all your data-analysis and much more! After a brief introduction on the tool and how to use it, we will share experiences on how other people are making use of these powerful tools.
By the end of the meetup you will have created R-markdown and R-notebooks, so don’t forget to bring your laptop!
With R-Markdown you can create documents that contain all your code as well as all of the results from that code, thus making your data analysis entirely reproducible. However, R-markdown can do much more than that. It is a tool that helps you during data analysis. It allows you to create a script with all your data analysis pipeline that you can play with as you try different statistical or visualisation methods. The great advantage, as opposed to standard R-scripts, it is that you can add text between your code to create amazing documents that you can personalise with just a few clicks. At the meetup participants will have hands-on experience on how to use these tools.
**Participants must bring a laptop and charger** with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on.
Participants are also asked to install R, and RStudio prior to the workshop (See instructions at
