The Mental Health Coalition of South Australia and Draw your S(Words) poetry have teamed up for a special event celebrating the value of creative expression in mental health recovery.
On June 26th, the DYS stage will provide a platform for those with lived experience of mental health challenges and illness-including families, carers and support workers-to share original poetry.
Headlining mindshare 2019 is Alison Paradoxx, mental health advocate and winner of SA’s 2016 Poetry Slam. You can also expect music from Georgy & Delilah, art on display, hot herbal tea courtesy of the Mad Tea Collective and free kombucha donated by Mojo Beverages.
This event celebrates the relaunch of the Mental Health Coalition’s mindshare - a creative project and online community dedicated to: promoting the creative work of people with lived experience of mental illness increasing awareness around mental health challenges through art and storytelling providing a voice for people with lived experience of mental illness in the public sphere.
Those wanting to participate in the open mic are advised to get in early and sign up at the door to secure their slot.
