In the context where we hear in the news and read scientific evidences that insect populations and pollinators are declining all over the world, Sydney Bee Club decided to dedicate its monthly meeting to Australian native bee pollinators. Many native bee species are specialised and less generalists in their foraging sources compared to European honeybees. Moreover their diversity helps to maintain a stronger ecosystem and provides better food security. In challenged environments which climate change is likely to trigger, the diversity of native bees seems to be even more important to know and protect. This Monday we invited 4 experts (see program below) which will present facts, research and Sydney community activities around native bees. In the session we will have real native bee nest and other habitats, live polls, native bee honey tasting and a lot of dynamic discussions! Come along to discover and learn beyond expectation!
